Page Design, and Navigation Research

*Thinking about how I am going to show my portfolio, I want to have square thumb nails, and I am thinking that I will have my thumb nails with parts of what the image is, so it is like a tease so wen you click on it you get the whole image.
*Kate Sylvester's website, I like this layout, with everything centered, with a good balance of positive and negative space. I want to have this in my layout.

*I like the gallery layout, with the small thunmbnails in a sqaure shape, which you click and the image changes.
*Vivienne Westwood's Homepage, I like the soft colour pellet used for the colour scheme. The layout is clear and simple, and the site is very easy to navigate through, with the use of drop down menus giving you options of where to go and what is what. Click here to see wesbite.

*Chanels website, very slick and clean. I think it is quite hard to pull off a black background, but it think it is very effective and works. I like the centered layout, with Headings, and category's under the headings. I like it how they have used the Chanel logo and a dominate feature, as you a drawn to it straight away.Click here to see website.

Looking at overall Websites, their layout, Colour Schemes, Navigation, and how they all link together, to make a cohesive website

*Davor Van Eijk studied human-computer interaction designer. This website caught my attention, as it had a simple, impacting homepage, and was easy to navigate through the website, and although each page had a different layout, there was always a consistent colour motif through out the site. This links the site together making it cohesive.

Sitotis Tiskara karlusic

*I saw this website, and though it was really unique. I love the use of using the notebook as the basis for the website. It is also easy to navigate through the website, through the use of the tabs on the notebook. It is not the sort of look I want for my website, but very clean cut and effective. Looking At Various Gallery Layouts

*A scrap book aesthetic,I like the simplicity and the effective colour scheme. i also like how there is only three photographs, so the viewer is not pushed with heaps of images, just the important ones, which i think is important in an effective portfolio..

Melissa Hie Website

*About page and skills page from the website

*The Contact page from the same site.
*This is a print design from the same site, to view the images you click on the two thumb nails below the large image, and it swop's the images, a bit like what we learnt in class on Tuesday, with the hover effect over images. I really like this, instead of having to open different pages with to see the images, this is a much simpler and cleaner way of viewing images. I think this is how I will have my gallery.
* LOVE..so my colour pellet to, and I love the imagery. I have been thinking about my website, and like this page your first click takes you straight to the homepage, which has all of the links to the sites pages. Instead of having an index page, which you then click, which takes you to a page, such as this one. As I was going to have an index page, then the homepage with the links to the site pages. This website is very cool, it has a different colour scheme on each page, and as you click the link a page pops in from a different direction each time, it makes me want to keep clicking to see what will happen next. The page layouts are very simple and clean cut, which I want for my portfolio.Click this link to see website

Researching Various Ways Of Photographying clothing

*Hanging garments on a clothing line, with the right setting, and lighting it could be effective and work. I am not sure if this is the sort of aesthetic that I am going for though. I will be doing some experimentation over the next couple of days and will post some photos!
*I really liked this image, the way in which somebody has set a scene around the garment, giving the garment a "life" or a "story" behind it. I think that I might look into doing this for one or two of my garments for my portfolio I think this is very effective to set the mood and theme of the project in which the garment was from.
*I thought this was really cool and quite stylish, a really different way of photographing garments in a totally different environment to which you would usually see.
*I found the above and below images on a website, which specialises in how to photograph items, and the lighting that is needed e.t.c. Click this link to see website. I was looking at how photographing clothing flat would look. I think that it looks, tidy and sharp, although I do not think that it shows the garments full potential, but could be a option.

*Life Photography, click this link to see website. Image below and image above, looking at taking various shots of a garment, could be a front view, back view, and close ups, and then combing each shot into one image, so you can show each view, without having separate images.

*Photographs by Evan Haveman, I think these photographs are really beautiful and evoke a beauty within the clothing. I like the idea of hanging clothing on a rack, with the right set of light and environment, you can take a stunning photo. Click this link to see website.

*A simple, yet enticing homepage, I think this is really beautiful and makes an impact, with the soft colour pellet, together with the image a suttle text is really effective. Click this link to see this website.
*Looking at how other designers have set our their gallery pages. I think this website is successful as the homepage includes their gallery. One click and straight away you see their work. This way it grasps viewers attention straight away, keeping them on the site, without getting bored and distracted. I also think the layout is simple and easy to navigate. click this link to see this website.
*Looking at homepage layouts, I want a simple layout, yet it still make an impact when viewers first look at my page, so that they will continue to look into the other pages with my work. I think this homepage is quite successful, using a bold black, and gray colour scheme with a quirky image and text. Click this link to see website.
